The Changing of The Guard
Both factions agree to some extent that there must be a gradual “changing of the guard” as it relates to new immigrants moving into this nation. The challenge occurs when the question of how assimilated is enough and how quickly does this process of assimilation need to take. The Includers are missing a vital message that could have their point of view the leading candidate as an answer for the question of, “who, really now, is ‘ruining America’”.
In his book, Who Are We, Samuel P. Huntington puts forth many persuasive arguments regarding the topic of assimilation. So how do you feel about that?
